Buddy Jones, USN, Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of Buddy Jones who passed away in December 2021 at the age of 90. Buddy enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served four years aboard the USS Hamul during the Korean War, including time on the islands of Guam and Japan, After his 4 years of service and an honorable discharge in 1952, Bud settled in the Bay Area and worked in the auto parts industry. He married and started a family before opening his own auto parts business in 1965. He retired after 25 years in business and spent the next 31 years enjoying his family and friends.

This scholarship is for a Veteran who is attending Las Positas College full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must provide a response to supplemental question and proof of honorable discharge from the service if no longer serving.
