V. W. Willits UC Transfer Scholarship

The Willits UCB Transfer Scholarship recognizes the impactful career of Victor William Willits, a dedicated educator and college administrator, whose work spanned many years at Chabot and Las Positas Colleges. With a deep passion for higher education, Victor helped shape the academic paths of countless students.

Victor and his wife, Arlene J. Willits, both graduated from UC Berkeley—Victor earning his undergraduate degree in 1962 and a Doctorate in Education in 1968, while Arlene completed undergraduate in 1963 and her Master of Arts in 1967. Their commitment to education and public service has had a lasting influence on the community.

This scholarship supports students transferring to UC Berkeley with majors in Political Science, History, or Economics—fields central to Victor’s own academic journey. Preference will be given to transfers to UC Berkeley, though applicants to other UC campuses will also be considered.

Through this scholarship, Victor and Arlene Willits continue to contribute to the educational advancement of future scholars, fostering academic excellence and a commitment to lifelong learning.
