Porta Family social Sciences Scholarship

Judy Porta taught sociology at Las Positas College for 20 years. She and Fred donated a half million dollars to provide early childhood education scholarships through the LPC Foundation “2GenFund.” These scholarships allow student parents to finish their education at LPC while their young children learn on campus at the Early Child Development Center. This Porta Scholarship supports students majoring in sociology, Judy’s field of education, who have unmet financial need.
