Eduardo and Blanca Posada First Generation Student Award

Eduardo Posada’s journey to becoming a restaurateur began in the Livermore Valley, where he worked as a high school janitor. While on the job, he started selling burritos from his car, which eventually led him to offer to prepare a staff meal for the school. The meal was such a hit that it sparked Eduardo’s passion for cooking and inspired him to launch his own catering company in 2003.

In 2015, Eduardo and his wife, Blanca, opened Posada Contemporary Cuisine in Livermore, a restaurant that brings together bold Southwestern flavors with a commitment to farm-to-table dining. Both Eduardo and Blanca, who were born in Mexico, founded this scholarship with the goal of supporting first-generation college students. Their story is one of hard work, dedication, and the belief that with the right opportunities, anyone can achieve their dreams—just as they did.
