Ann & Phil Aines Memorial Scholarship Endowment

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of the Aines family, whose significant donation has made it possible for the Anthropology Program to offer two $1,000 scholarships each year. This scholarship honors the memory of Ann and Phil Aines, who instilled a strong sense of philanthropy and community service in their family.

Ann, in particular, was known for her dedication to giving back. Over the years, she contributed more than 4,000 hours as a volunteer, working with various organizations and earning accolades for her service. Her work with raptors, where she became affectionately known as the “Bird Woman of Bend,” is just one example of her commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Through their generous donation and establishment of this scholarship, Ann and Phil’s legacy continues to support students who are passionate about anthropology and committed to furthering their education.
